The Wuyang hero trial is now live in Overwatch 2, letting players try out hero number 44 ahead of Season 18. Originally teased under the codename ‘Aqua,’ Wuyang is a Chinese hero connected to elemental water forces. As seen in his new Against The Tide comic, Wuyang attends a special university to hone his abilities and master his powers whilst also setting himself apart from the default route other water students tend to follow.
Players now have a brief window of time to try him out before he vanishes again for the remainder of Season 17. This hero trial opportunity follows Wuyang’s official gameplay trailer, which showcased a sneak peek at some very promising utility within his ability kit.
Wuyang Hero Trial Dates & Information
The hero trial for Wuyang will be available between August 14 and August 18 PT, giving players a few days to get a feel for Wuyang’s kit and playstyle.
To play Wuyang during his Overwatch 2 hero trial, players can do so via Quick Play games and the Practice Range, with the possibility of some custom games and arcade modes potentially working too.
If they are playing Quick Play game modes, you will need to ensure that you are either queued for the Support Role or in Open Queue. This way, you will be able to select Wuyang from the Support Hero roster at the beginning of a match.
However, this is also providing you are able to instalock the new guy before everyone else on your team, as it’s almost certain everyone will be gunning for a chance to try him out.
