Overwatch 2 Wuyang Gameplay Tips & Tricks

Overwatch 2 Wuyang guide - gameplay tips & tricks

Mastering Wuyang can certainly take some time, as he has quite a technical kit. However, following hands-on experience with the hero, there are a few key pointers, tips, and tricks we’ve found that players should keep in mind.

  • Wuyang can control the trajectory of his primary fire. This means that once you get used to distances and the speed of his projectile, you can curve them behind corners, walls, and buildings – both to hit targets behind cover, or to shoot from behind your own cover.
  • His Rushing Torrent gives him the ability to quickly skate in and out of different ranges. For example, this lets him skate in, hit the Tank with his water wave for boosted heals, throw a couple primary fire shots at the enemy, then skate back out as soon as he is pressured.
  • Additionally, because his horizontal mobility is fairly strong with Rushing Torrent, Wuyang pairs with high-mobility team comps very nicely. If you have characters such as Winston, Doomfist, Hammond, Lucio, Juno, Genji, Tracer, then Wuyang can thrive from playing alongside them in key moments of the fight. These are also some great general targets to consider pairing your Ultimate with, due to their potential to quickly move into range for maximum Ult efficiency.
  • His Tidal Blast ultimate pairs surprisingly well with a number of other Ultimates. For example, Reaper can wraith in while it charges up, hit them with the water detonation to knock them down, and then pop his Death Blossom. This way, Reaper gets his lifesteal, burst healing from the water, and pretty much gets a free kill on anyone that has been knocked down, provided no miracle heals come into play for the enemy.
  • Wuyang can only heal one person at a time, as his secondary fire works much like a Zen orb with the option to tap with further Mercy-like heals. Because of this, Wuyang can be more difficult to play in comps that require high burst heals. He can struggle more when playing alongside a Zenyatta, Illari, or Lifeweaver, depending on the situation. However, he can also have standout performances with the likes of a strong Mercy, Juno, Ana, Baptiste, and Kiriko – depending on the situation, of course.
